Affiliate Referral Program

A New Way of Funding your Foundation

TCN has created an Affiliate Referral Program to help raise funds and encourage new foundations at TCN.  It is a new and novel approach to fund-raising for our Foundation Members, including those with Field of Interest Foundations and those with Personal or Family Foundations. One of the most difficult tasks in operating a foundation is finding money to fund your projects or to distribute as grants to those in need.

In the past, people have used dozens of fund-raising techniques, ranging from simply asking for financial support to fund-raising events and writing requests for grants. All of these are still very valid ways to raise funds, and those of you who use them should continue to do so.

One lesson we learned long ago is that TCN grows most effectively by word-of-mouth. We have a large number of Members who are very pleased with having a foundation at TCN, and they tell others about how great it is to have a foundation at TCN.  In fact, many of new the foundations at TCN are created as a result of being referred by others who have a foundation at TCN. Therefore, we realized that we should encourage word-of-mouth referrals by making a donation to the foundation of any Member who refers another person, family or business to us that applies for a TCN Foundation.

If you have a foundation at TCN, you will now qualify for a referral donation every time someone you refer to us opens up a new foundation.

Commencing this fourth quarter of 2011, the fees for Foundation membership shall become an annual fee. For example, for Field of Interest Foundations (FOI), the annual fee will be $495.  A FOI is essentially an operating foundation and plans to raise most of its funds from the public through various fund-raising events, with little or no money coming from the founder or the founders family.

On the other hand, the annual fee for a Family or Business Foundation will be $285.  This type of foundation is like a private foundation, whereby most, if not all, of the funding comes from the family or the business owner.  In either case, the first year’s fee is paid in advance and on each subsequent anniversary the basic fee will be either $495 or $285, depending upon whether it is a Field of Interest Foundation or a Family/Business Foundation.

In lieu of the previous annual administration fee of 2% of the assets in the foundation account, the annual administration fee will be reduced to 1% of the value of the foundation, paid quarterly, in arrears. Your foundation will receive a part of the basic annual fee for referrals as an affiliate of TCN.

The previous 2% fee charged on all new donations to foundation accounts are also being reduced to 1.25%

The Affiliate Program is a two-level program. You will receive a donation on all new foundations that you refer to TCN, and you will also receive a donation on all new members who are referred by any member that you referred.  There is also an incentive for you to help others raise funds, since you will receive a portion of the percentage we charge on new money flowing into those foundations.
